What actually happens at this event?
You’ll be guided through a series of one-on-one conversations using thoughtfully written prompts that help you skip the small talk and jump into more meaningful territory.
Here’s what that looks like:
You’ll have short one-on-one conversations, and we’ll let you know when it’s time to switch—no timekeeping on your part
Prompts are provided — no need to think of what to talk about
You can always pass on a question that you don’t vibe with
There’s no pressure to be funny, impressive, or “good at networking”
The vibe is calm, kind, and surprisingly easy.
Who is this for?
People who want to make friends or meet new humans
Folks who enjoy deeper conversation but don’t love loud bars
Anyone feeling a bit lonely, curious, or ready to shake up their routine
Introverts, extroverts, and everyone in between
Many attendees are in their 20s and 30s, but all ages are welcome.
This is a platonic, open-to-all event — not a dating event.
What if I’m nervous?
Totally normal. A lot of people are!
Skip the Small Talk is designed specifically to reduce social anxiety:
Structure removes awkwardness
Prompts do the heavy lifting
You’re never put on the spot
Facilitators are there to support the room
People often leave saying things like:
“That was way less awkward than I expected.”
“I actually had fun talking to strangers.”
“I’m really glad I came.”Hear from real attendees in the videos at the bottom of the page!
